DRUMMM Receives Grant!

Thanks to a grant from Oakland Fund for the Arts, DRUMMM will be working with Oakland International High School students and teachers this May to develop team building, leadership and communication skills through rhythm.

About the school: Oakland International High School is a new public school in Oakland, California that serves recently arrived immigrants, a population that has typically been underserved nationally, in California, and in Oakland. Currently, our students come from four continents, 23 countries, and between them speak 22 home languages. Our mission is to provide quality alternative education for recently arrived immigrant students in English language acquisition and preparation for college. Our diverse students become active participants in our community while learning in small groups through hands-on, interdisciplinary projects and collaboration.
