Embodying Persephone A Women's Spring Renewal Retreat with Drum, Yoga, and Song Friday April 5 - Sunday April 7, 2013 Offered by Francesca Genco of Lilac Music and Jeni Swerdlow of DRUMMM. Renew yourself in the company of women as we transition from Winter to Spring! Prepare to soothe, connect, and awaken the mind-body-spirit through rhythm, voice, and movement. We will drum, sing, dream, draw, dance, and walk the land of the beautiful Black Mountain Retreat Center in Cazadero, CA. Just 2 hours drive from S.F. Bay Area! In addition to leading us in embodied song, Francesca will offer yoga classes as part of our weekend together. Jeni will facilitate the funnest, most empowering drumming sessions you ever dared to experience AND lead us in creating our personal visions through the process of writing and collage!
Lovely accommodations, delicious vegetarian meals, hiking trails through forest and meadows await you! Bodywork sessions with the incomparable Jeannie McKenzie will also be available. Open to all levels of experience and creativity, this will be a safe and supportive environment in which to explore, play, discover, and nurture both inside and out.

Francesca Genco is a singer and sound healer, yoga instructor, bodyworker and interdisciplinary arts teacher. She is a REMO endorsed drum circle facilitator, trained HealthRHYTHMS facilitator, and lifelong student of West African drumming and world percussion. --Learn rhythms, games and drum circle activites that will engage and inspire youth.
--Workshop participants will enjoy a fun, stimulating experience while team-building and developing bonds between each other.
--No drumming experience is necessary. Instruments will be provided for use during the workshop.
--Who should attend: Music Docents, Classroom Teachers, School Principals, College Students, Seniors, Retired Teachers, Relatives and Friends of Children and the Arts.
Workshop is FREE to all MFMII Docents, Classroom Teachers and Principals of MFMII Schools.

Join Jeni Swerdlow's DRUMMM Intensive workshop and get your hands dancing in rhythm on the drum! Introduction to hand-drumming techniques, world rhythms, and freestyle drumming activities will build skills and develop confidence. All levels of experience are welcome, beginners are especially encouraged. Ages 18+.
